Timeshare Scams and Fraud

Complaints  >   Timeshare Resort Category

We too were scammed by Prl and Sunset Harbor. Although we have used the RCI network with points from Sunset Harbor timeshare. I have paid for membership in RCI and my condo fees for SHR for two years now. I am now receiving a bill for every two weeks for payment and threats of delinquent fees to be added.
I knew it sounded to good to be true. Scammed by a stinken timeshare scheme.

We were presented an offer to buy our weeks at RCI and purchase a timeshare at Sunset Harbor 11-17-2011.
We were promised 8500 for the first year and 6400 for the next year.
I have called and written and not gotten anything but email from BJ Cooke.

I tried to call today and it says the phone is disconnected.

We are out $498 with PRL and $7002 that we have paid for Sunset Harbor.

I tried to contact vacation club to reserve two nights there with my timeshare. We bought our unit 12 years ago when I was still married to my ex-husband. Instead of returning my e-mail request, these salespeople forwarded my request to my ex-husband and said that the timeshare is under his name(?) and I have no right to come up north and they will not even respond back to my request because my name is not on the Deed!(only because I have changed my name back to my maiden name).

Access Travel Network uses unfair business practice to claim rent of your RCI timeshare weeks and then denies refund of the upfront money On Nov 6 2012, I was contacted and lulled into a sales pitch of Access Travel Network being able to rent my supposed alotted RCI timeshare weeks to corporations during major entertainment events such as the Super Bowl when demand would be high. They ask for you to pay up front for the per week exchange fee of $149 per week for 12 weeks of rental for a total of $1788 and then they will rent it out at $1500 per week and send you the checks. They authorize you credit card over the phone at that point and you are charged. The contract they ask you to sign states a refund is offered within 7 days but is non-refundable if after signing the contract. ... Read More

He finally called and appeared to have a good excuse because he had an inaccurate email address for us. We let the charge stand on our credit card. We were really duped. Their setup of people and the pass around was quite a system. Do we even have the timeshare or the points with RCI?
