Timeshare Scams and Fraud

Met with Reps. from PRL. And we were told that we would have 60,000 plus points from a previous vacation club membership to rent buy PRL. We would only have to purchase a timeshare e in Texas for 9,000 dollars and join prl ect ect. Needless to say we never received any rental checks. I have not been able to contact anyone involved with the initial transaction. I have hired a lawyer

I dubed by prl thay went out of business how do I get my money back from prl or sunset harbor resort.

We too were scammed by Prl and Sunset Harbor. Although we have used the RCI network with points from Sunset Harbor timeshare. I have paid for membership in RCI and my condo fees for SHR for two years now. I am now receiving a bill for every two weeks for payment and threats of delinquent fees to be added.
I knew it sounded to good to be true. Scammed by a stinken timeshare scheme.

We purchased more points with Sunset Harbor Resort in order to have enough for rental with this company.
They required 100,000 points. Also they told us this was by special invitation. We noticed only retirees were at the presentation. So we feel they targeted the older age bracket for their scam.
After our credit card payments cleared there was no more response from BJ Cooke or anyone else from his company. Even though he acted like he would be our best friend for life during the presentation.
We found out their company is now dissolved. We made a $9000 payment and now have no deed and no RCI points. It looks like they took the money and left us with nothing. No one is answering any of our phone calls.

I attended a presentation on 5-21-12. I was supposed to get a call in August from PRL regarding my points and reserving points for maintenance fees so I would I would not have to pay out of pocket for yearly maintenance. The only reason I purchased a timeshare at Sunset Harbor was because of having a lot of points to pay maintenance and go on a lot of vacations for 9,000 points for each stay. I started calling PRL and Sunset Harbor in September and have left so many messages for someone to call me back. No one ever called me back.
