Timeshare Scams and Fraud

Complaints  >   Timeshare Resort Category

We were invited to a free dinner to discuss a settlement against RCI and timeshare properties, who were not marketing the open timeshare properties. we were told they would buy our points which were 200,000 points, and would rent out our current weeks of timeshare with a return of 6.5% per point. this was 2-24-2014. but there was a catch. We had to give them a check for AVD for $598.00, another $9400.00 on a credit card. We were to get all our monies back and money for the points 9 months later. We have left messages and filed complaints with the BBB. This is clearly a scam and we were dumb enough to buy into it. If it is to good to be true, it probably is. We have left messages with no response.

I am lodging my complaint here to raise awareness about what’s going on at Vida Vacations.I made the mistake of believing what my Vida sales rep told me.

When I was looking at Vida, I told them we rarely used our 2 weeks per year that we already had with Shell Vacations. The Vida sales rep told me that this was not an issue at all, that we could easily sell our Shell timeshare through a recommended broker for cash and that this was a plan that many of their members sucessfully used. We could then use the cash procedes to replace the money we would use to buy the Vida timeshares. Plus, Vida was different because whatever weeks we didn’t use from Vida could be rented out through the same broker, which seemed like a safe bet to me.

A year and a half later nothing has happened... Read More

These names might not be the right names because they are definitely a organized Scam artist, that are ripping everybody off. They call my husband and I telling us they have a couple that want to rent out our Getaway Bonus Week. We should be getting 20,000. We needed to pay a documental State Tax before we get our checks of $727 through Money Gram, which cost us a total of $849. I'm pressing charges and will be having FBI on the case. Don't trust them for one min. The names are probably not real. If they get in touch with you they probably would use another name. I don't know how they sleep at night knowing they are probably taking food out of the mouths of little kids. I hope they get Ebola and die!

I purchased a timeshare there 8-10 years ago. I went there with a friend 2 years ago and she gave in to their constant badgering and agreed to purchase. I didn't have anything to do with this. While she was in their sales office, I just stayed by the pool. I never even spoke to the salesman. The salesman used the $8,000.00 I paid and added her to my agreement. She then had to pay $6,000.00. The timeshare wound up being $14,000.00. I had no knowledge of what he was doing. No one ever spoke to me and I never signed anything. This has to be an illegal contract. I never would have agreed putting her name on my agreement, but no one ever asked for my permission and totally changed my agreement. Don't know how to handle this. I only found out about this one day ago because ... Read More
