I received a call stating changes and a new concept to my RCI vacation points. The meeting was at Applebee's and I would be treated to a free dinner. The company representing RCI was PRL (Points Rental Liquidators). I was guaranteed to receive a check in 6 to 7 months for the points they (PRL) used to rent my timeshare. In exchange I had to purchase a timeshare with Sunset Harbor Resorts in Willis, TX. That would give me 27,000 points added to my already RCI points. I could transfer more points if I wanted. (I did not at that time). Prl was going to pay out from $0.085 - $.0875 per point. I signed a "PRL Guaranteed Points Rental Agreement" on March 28, 2012 and it cost $498.00 to join. I received a n invoice for $273. for maintenance fees (as stated that I would) in August or Sept. 2012. I did not pay it. I wanted to see the "guaranteed check" first. Never did get another invoice or late pmt. notice.
RCI has not added 27,000 points to my account. However, Sunset Harbor shows me a proud owner of a luxury 2 bedroom suite.
In March of 2013 I was invited to another free dinner at Chad's Bar & Grill to discuss RCI points. I went thinking I might get some answers about last year's purchase. I signed in and when I told the representative I owned Sunset Harbor he immediately said, "I can not talk to you." He said he owned Sunset and they were in litigation with PRL. They used to be in contract with PRL but were not satisfied with PRL's representation. I took 30 minutes to get to and from Chad's and didn't even get my free meal.
Now I'm wondering if or how I can get some of my money back. Is there any company or Lawyer representing all us seniors who were scammed by PRL?
