I bought a membership with Occidental Vacation Club, the next day I asked for the cancellation but they refused because I was told that i had renounced to the clause which says that I have those 5 days, so from there I found it all very strange and I started researching and found thousands of complaints and bad reviews about occidental Vacation club, and greater was my need to cancel my membership! I researched PROFECO and saw that this practice was illegal,so I did not want to risk me to lose all my money ,then i fast contacted a company dedicated to cancel timeshare memberships, called Mexican timeshare solutions , I told them my situation and they told me that like me exist many other people in the same situation or worst.. it is a whole mafia !! thank God MTS could cancel ... During our stay at the Occidental in Cozumel, we were constantly heckled by staff all over the resort about coming to the Occidental Club for breakfast but if we did to make sure we came back to them and not talk to anybody else. We ignored them the first day. That night our stay was horrible due to the AC not working in our room. The next morning we got up to rent a jeep for the day and used one of the people that stand around trying to get us to the occidental club. He said he had the best deal. We paid for this and realized the jeep we rented was horrible and really not in the best to feel safe to drive. There was a hole in the passenger side where the heat from engine came through. Being upset at the situations the first day. We spoke to management. They sent us to someone th... Read More

About 2 Years ago we purchased a membership with OVC. Recently we have been receiving many phone calls from people offering to buy our membership or to rent our membership out for us. They have all of our information including what unit we purchased, our contact information and what it cost us, they have informed us that our information was given to them from Occidental itself. We were considering renting so we called Occidental to confirm that these companies were associated with them and they informed us that they were not. That people were making arrangement and signing agreements and then not seeing the money for the units. We asked the next one who called how they received our contact information (our private cell numbers and were asking for us by name) and again were told O... Read More

We went to Cancun last August, 2013 and while buying tickets to Xcaret we were promised tickets if we attend a presentation on Occidental vacation club that will last 90 minutes, it ended up costing us the whole day. They gave a good sales spill and promised that weare buying a great timeshare, that we could even split our week to 3 days and 4 days, and That the usual resort that we stay-in in Florida (Encantada resort) was included in their group of resorts. They also promised easy reservations with personalized service that will help you with the hassle free reservations.
We put in 2K in downpayent but had buyers remorse after we got back home after reading a whole lot of complaints about Occidental vacation club, we tried to refund and had written to Profeco, Luis Namnum, Gret... Read More

Occidental Vacation Club is a Scam. We purchased a " membership" while on vacation in Cozumel. The sales people misrepresented the membership and just outright lied! We were promised huge savings on the vacation and 30-40% of airfare. When we went to book our vacation for the first time we found that there was no discounts on the airfare and after the required all inclusive fees for the food and drinks the cost of using the membership was more than if we booked with Expedia online.
We had already paid over $4000.00 down payment toward the membership and found the membership was worthless! We approached the President of Occidental Luis Namnum to request a refund. Mr. Namnum first told us in writing that if we could show we could book with Expedia for less he wo... Read More
