9/24/13 Destinations (CED) contacted us telephonically. Claimed to have a client that wants to rent one of our vacation weeks at Grande Luxxe for the next 10 years. Initial sale price of $32,950.00
11/9/13: Contract was emailed, reviewed, signed and sent back.
11/13/2013: We were instructed to pay $13250.00 for the 10 Maintenance fees. Upon inquiry it was explained to me that Mexico needs proof that the payments come from the actual owner’s account to abide with the new laws and regulations to prevent money laundering by drug cartels. I was also insured that the “buyer” has set up an Escrow account in my name in the US and every time I make a payment, the buyer deposit the same amount into this account, from which I will be reimbursed after closure, as the contract stated.
11/25/13: Wire transfer #2 for $2120.00 for the transfer certificates.
11/25/13: Wire transfer #3 for 6261.00 for the 19% sales tax
12/5//13: Wire transfer #4 for certificate of we thought this would be the final payment.
12/1013: Josh called stating we needed to pay $10,400.00 for attorneys fees. We refused
I was provided each and every time with a SAT form from the Mexican government and a "escrow" statement that showed my purchasers were matching any patment I made with a deposit of their own - so that I may be reimbursed at closing or "pay out". threatened by “contract break” if I did not pay this. I was told this would be the last payment due and that I was scheduled for payment 9/17/2013.
After calling the buyer who was in Seattle she continued to verify and state and back up everything Josh had stated. By then we had a bad feeling.
We have continued to call and demand our money back. with no response we sent a certified letter to Century and a letter by regular mail - both were returned for "insufficient address.
We have since found out that there is no such "Century Events and Destinations located at 1735 Market Street, Philadelphia PA. We have reported and filed a complaint to the Better Business Bureau in Pa. We are now beginning legal action to sue.
We are still waiting…
Every time I call I get an excuse that CED has not yet received confirmation from Mexico.
