Secured my name and information from timeshare public records. Initial call (9/21/13) was to see if I would be interested in selling my timeshare. I was. Gave me a wonderful scenario with promise of money back guarantee if property was not sold within 90 days. Sent documents to me (9/23/13) verifying information given on phone: 4 page contract was signed and returned with check for $995 for advertisement, administration fees, recording fees, etc. Website and documents looked official. Buyers were found and the process was taking close to 90 days. I had to reach out to them for any status. Finally, closing date was set for 12/10. Problem arose on the buyer's end with coming up with last minute funds to pay for real estate stamps. We were asked to pay half and we would be reimbursed at closing. I refused and asked for the plug to be pulled on the deal. No problem; I was told I would receive my refund check in 8-10 days after that conversation which was around 12/16. To date, no word; no check! 2/7/14, I sent ltr to Scott at the address of record. I called: phone was disconnected. Tried to check out website: oh no, that was down. I got the revelation: I've been scammed! I may not ever receive my money back, but I want to add my experience to any other complaints and hopefully prevent someone else from falling for this type of scam.
