In popular Cancun, Mexico, The Royal Sands gets a strong vote

Trip Advisor, the online site that ranks hotels, restaurants and airlines, has some advice for travelers who make a point of repeatedly visiting Cancun, Mexico.

Trip Advisor’s users have rated The Royal Sands as one of Cancun’s top family resort. The resort and spa got the ranking as part of the Trip Advisor Travelers Choice 2010 survey, which ranked Royal Sands number three in the Top 10 family resorts for Mexico and the Caribbean.

Last year, Royal Resorts also received an enthusiastic thumbs up from Trip Advisor users in the Trip Advisor Travelers Choice 2009. Two of its resorts – The Royal Cancun (Club Internacional de Cancun) and The Royal Sands appeared in the world’s top 80 family resorts listing, and were also listed among the top ten family vacation spots for Mexico and the Caribbean.

What to expect? The Royal Sands bills itself as a place to “relax and rediscover life’s many pleasures. The perfect spot for a fun-packed family vacation, a gathering of friends or your own private paradise.”

Royal Sands provides a spacious villa that offers a view of what has made Cancun so very popular with visitors: the white sands and turquoise waters on the beach, all from the terrace of your villa. The resort promises a view that is “simply spectacular.”

The spacious villas offer two bedrooms and two bathrooms and can sleep six people. Each villa comes with a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering and an expansive living and dining area. The private terrace has views of the Caribbean and is ideal for sunbathing or dining al fresco. The master bedroom offers a king-size bed, a master bathroom and an independent door to the terrace. The lock off guest bedroom has a smaller balcony.

Other indoor amenities include a kitchen that comes with a fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, tableware, and cooking utensils. The living area provides two Murphy beds, a television set, DVD player, sound system and phone. The dining area seats six people, and the master bedroom comes with a king-size bed, television, telephone, closet, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, and in-room safe.

The guest bedroom comes with two double beds, television, telephone, hair dryer, safe, mini refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave oven, private bathroom and private balcony.

The resort provides daily maid service, wi-fi access and central air conditioning.

The resort itself offers its own amenities, including an option to relax in Royal Sands’ spa, work out at the fitness center or on the tennis courts, or sign up for daily fun activities for children and adults. After the sun sets, guests have an array of dining options, as well as special theme nights and live entertainment every night of the week.

The Royal Sands is located at the heart of the Cancun Hotel Zone next to Kukulcan Plaza-Luxury Avenue Mall and within walking distance of La Isla Shopping Village. The nearest golf course is five minutes away, and the Punta Cancun nightclub district is 10 minutes from the resort respectively and it is a 20-minute drive to the airport.
