My father has a gold level 30,000 points annual with Diamond in the US collection which allows you to upgrade for free, book 13 months in advance. I am trying to help him get out from under these fees. He has invested over $25K in this. I have used it often, the resorts are great. He can not travel and/or commit to the annual fees.
