The tourism and construction industries have both suffered of late due to widespread economic hardship. However, that hardship will be alleviated just a little in central Florida. Westgate Lakes has announced a major expansion to its timeshare resort there.

There are some brokers of timeshare facilities who have caused the timeshare industry to suffer a bad reputation because of their shady deals, scams and other tactics that may not be illegal but definitely qualify as being unethical.

Breckenridge Grand Vacations has received preliminary approval to replace its Bergenhof ski lodge. The final version of the plan still has a few hoops to jump through regarding the environmental impact of the new lodge. Once finalized, however, the project will add many new timeshares and significant economic stimulus to the region.
