Faced with a late surge of nominees, Perspective Magazine has extended its nomination deadline until Dec. 21 for the Second Annual Perspective Magazine Awards Program. The awards, sponsored by Holiday Systems International, are aimed at timeshare industry professionals who want to nominate their favorite company or individual for outstanding global recognition of their products or services.

The winners will be announced at the end of the Global Networking Expo, GNEX 2012 – A Global Meeting of Minds, which will be held at the Ritz Carlton Cancun in Cancun, Mexico from Jan. 31 to Feb. 2, 2012.
Online voting will begin during the first week of January, providing a three-week window for the industry to vote. The 2011 awards program attracted 150 nominees who received more than 2,500 votes from industry professionals all around the world.

Voting is available online through http://perspectivemagazine.com/gnex. At the end of the voting period, the online votes will be combined with the decisions of an exclusive panel of judges to determine the winners.
Categories will include awards for “Best Timeshare Unit” and “Best Fractional Resort,” as well as several new categories, including an expansion of the “Best Developer Partner” category to include nominees from companies with more than 50 employees, and those with fewer than 50. “This will give every type of shared ownership company, whether it be a resort, vendor or supplier, an opportunity to nominate for an award,” the magazine noted.

Additional award categories include marketing campaigns, new technology, innovation initiatives and green programs. Individuals in the industry can win as Best Industry Leader for sales and marketing and for being entrepreneurs. Hacienda Tres Rios Resort will host the Perspective Magazine Awards gala dinner, where the winners will be announced on Feb. 2.

“We have been stunned by the number of enquiries about nominations, which have come in right before the deadline,” said Paul Mattimoe, president and CEO of Perspective International. “We want to make sure they all have time to prepare and submit their nominations. We are already close to surpassing last year’s number of 150 nominees because of our extensive online outreach, and we encourage anyone else thinking of entering to quickly get their nominations in before the new deadline expires.” GNEX 2012 will discuss the timeshare industry through a global lens, as resort professionals gather to create business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships.
