The worst resort we ever visited! It is definitely NOT a 4 or 5 star hotel as stated. Overall, I might give it a 1. First, the place is old and in need of a major make-over. Food was somewhat ok. Better food off premise. Water was a murky brown not the crystal clear blue in pics. Room service was horrible. We received the wrong item and it took 45 min. to receive the correct order. Then I had to fight for them to issue a credit for the wrong item. The people who manage the outside activities are a separate entity. Staff was unfriendly unless you helped them earn a commission or purchased a time share. Room smelled like urine for all of the 7 days. We opened windows, sprayed & alerted staff but no relief. There seems to be a tier system. Everyone involved in this scheme receives a commission. It's all about money. They can care less about making your visit enjoyable. A person calls you at you house right before you leave for vacation. She tells you to avoid anyone at the airport who tries to sell you something. She says they’re sketchy & you don't want to get involved in what they have to offer. First day you arrive, people will be in the lobby to hunt you down. Once they get you attention, they feed you drinks and give you free and half price tickets for day excursions in hopes you will attend the 90 min. breakfast presentation. The 90 min.presentation turned into an 8 hour interrogation! They break you down until you sign. You are at the mercy of very persistent salespeople who know their craft well. If one doesn't get you to sign another one comes over. If you still won’t sign the ‘closer’ stops by the table. Now you have 3 people trying to *** you into signing the contract. During this time, they lie, cheat & steal by offering free weeks, trips, memberships, etc. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CANCEL CONTRACT DURING THE SO CALLED GRACE PERIOD!
They are guilty of using fraudulent sales tactics which included misrepresentation of the timeshare package, false & withholding information & numerous verbal as well as visual lies.
1. High pressured sales tactics started and continued for 8 HOURS. We had 3 different sales people approach our table. During this time, we were not offered any lunch or snacks.
2. We were told Paradise Vacation Club had over 150,000 hotels to choose from. Apparently, it was Interval Travel which had over 150,000 resorts which anyone can join.that Paradise Vacation Club had over 150,000 resorts to choose from. When in fact, it was Interval International who has all those resort! This important information was never disclosed to us. So in addition to the cost of the timeshare, we would have to pay a yearly fee to join and another fee to book one of their resorts. So in reality, we are only entitled to ONE resort, Paradise Resort & Spa in Puerto Vallarta. A lot of money for just one resort!
2. We were shown a glossy, print of the top 50 resorts in the WORLD. Paradise Village ranked # 5!! Harborside @ the Atlantis was #1 and a resort in Dubai was # 2.
3. Initially, we were told there was not a cancellation period. Later, while reading the long contract with extremely small writing, we noticed we did have 5 days to cancel.
4. I made numerous trips to the sales office. The sales people knew we were not happy & wanted to cancel but no one wanted to listen. Instead, they kept adding more incentives to our package. It did not. I couldn't even meet with any of the original 3 salespeople who were conveniently unavailable.
