I was contacted in the mid to late January 2013 by Nick Diaz of Continental Property Solutions out of Memphis, TN saying they had an executive of a corporation wanted to rent 10 weeks of my timeshare for a corporation meeting and they where offering $1800.00 for each week totally $18000.00 and wanted to know if I would be interested. I told Nick I would have to think about it. A few days later I received a call from Bill Hastings, manager saying the executive needed to know as the meeting was in April and they needed to get the transaction completed ASAP. I told Mr. Hastings I would let him know. I when online and looked up their company and the title company, Concord International Title in St. Paul Minnesota, they where using and did not find anything good nor bad about either of them. I tried the phone directory but neither where listed. When I ask the title company why...they stated they were an international company and only dealt with international transactions therefore we did not need to be listed. I guess that should have been my clue something was not right.
I agreed to rent the 10 weeks so Mr. Hastings emailed me a contract which looked legal. I was told the executive agreed to pay $18,000 to rent the 10 weeks and reimburse me for the maintenance fees for those years and all expenses associated with this transaction but I had to pay these fees first because I was the owner and they could not be paid by anyone else. I wire transferred the funds to a bank in Mexico per the wire instructions from the Concord International Title. Once I implied then they came up with another fee. They said it was the taxes that the Mexican government required to be paid before we could close and I was asked to wire the taxes in other wire. I was assured that I would receive the price offered plus a refund of the costs including taxes, transfer of title. etc. as the buyer was willing to cover these expenses. They promised that once I did that the transaction would be completed in 5 days. So I wired the taxes. I received an email says we were ready to close and was given a date that the funds would be wired to my checking account. When the funds did not show up I tired to call the title company to get a tracking number but no one would answer the phone so I called Mr Hastings and he said he would call the title company. He called me back with a tracking number and said I would receive an email from the title company too with all the tracking information which I did. As of today, I have not received any funds and now no one answers at Continental Property Solutions either and I do not get any answers to the many email I have sent. This is a BIG SCAM!!l
