Access Travel Network a total Scam! - Access Travel Network
Company Name: Access Travel Network
Company Address: Orlando, Florida
Company Website: www.accesstravelnet.com
Company Phone: 18007515547
Sales Person: Deborah Page
I received a call from a pretty legitimate sounding salesperson. She knew when I had purchased a timeshare in June of this year and said that the bonus weeks that came with that were about to expire and that I could rent/sell them for $1500 each. She said I had 12 bonus weeks about to expire. She showed me an RCI page on line where you can sell weeks to friends or family and she said we could use that avenue to sell the "about to expire bonus weeks we owned". She said the units would be rented out within 60-90 days. The only thing I had to do was pay the $149.00 per unit that would release the units to be sold to her clients. She said I would not be charged until I signed the contract, but that she needed my credit card information to start the process. When I questioned that, she said, "You are not signing anything" and this transaction is completely refundable with the 7 day right of rescission you have in the state of Florida.
I was stupid, and gave her my credit card information. I told her I would talk to my husband about the transaction and sign paper work the next day if we decided to go ahead with it.
When I looked up the company, luckily, someone else had posted, how their scam works. I called RCI to verify the number of weeks I supposedly had, and they said I had none. I quickly called my credit card company and they had already put the charge through. I reported the charge as a scam, and now am waiting for the dispute to be resolved. In essence this company makes you believe that you have bonus weeks you can sell. Since you have none, and they say they have up 180 days to sell your property, they get your money and you dispute window of 180 days with your credit card company is over. You are basically robbed of your money.
I contacted them, and was not able to speak to Deborah Page, the sales lady. I closed my credit card account the day the transaction was processed, but I may have to pursue legal action to get my account credited if it does not get reversed by ATN.
