Timeshare Scams and Fraud

Contract they sent me included a $15,000 closing fee that I was supposed to pay now. Travel Marketing said they would reimburse the money at closing. I told them they were crazy to think I was going to prepay anything. I called them a scam.

I have been contacted by a dubious timeshare “resale” company
that called TRAVEL MARKETING ASSOCIATES INC and they claimed their business location at 3030 North West Expressway, Suite 200, Oklahoma City, OK 73112. I contacted the office location provided and found out that the suite 200 is PC Executive Service and they told me that the location is not a sharing office and this business has not affiliation with TRAVEL MARKETING ASSOCIATES.
I perform a thorough research to verify the authenticity of this TRAVEL MARKETING ASSOCIATES INC business and find that there are two Customer complaints in last three years on Better Business Bureau website (Travel Marketing Associates Inc. | Complaints | Better Business Bureau® Profile (bbb.org)). BEWARE! i received a call from these two individuals representing themselves as real estate brokers. They had a lot of personal information on me and the fact that I owned a timeshare, how long, many details, etc.
The claimed the two owners of the Villa Group and Garza Blanca (both in Mexico) were feuding and one of them was trying to buy up time share ownerships to buy out the other owner.
THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND CONVINCING! Their web site was first class with lots of information and brokers licenses and BBB referals. They even have a very professional secretary which answers your calls.
I was completely fooled! Before i turned over two much information, I called my timeshare to check on this whole situation. They told me it was not true and I was being scammed!

I was called and asked to sell the Timeshare I have advertised here. They did not have information from Timeshare Market Place or another site I am listed on.
They sounded very professional at first and I directed them to a real Agent selling my timeshare. They falsely stated they contacted my contact, which I verified they did not. They attempted to try to convince me they were legit and sent paperwork wanting me to remit $12,200 which they would refund. I have since reported the to the FTC.
