Timeshare Scams and Fraud

Complaints  >   Marriott Vacation Club International Company

Less a complaint and more about education. When any sales person informs you of the market price of ownership, 'per point,' recognize that the very same points are readily available in the open market for a fraction of the cost.

Marriott Vacation Club makes a point up front that they reserve the right of first refusal to buy back their points because the market value continues to increase. If you're buying direct from them the statement would be true.

My purchase of 2,500 points was bought for roughly $10 per point. If buying direct from them today they will sell them for $13+.

However, on the resale market you'll have a tough time getting $4 per point so while this is a great way to own a timeshare with properties around the world, don't buy direct.
