Timeshare Scams and Fraud

Rec'd call supposedly from RCI saying they wanted to update us on changes, @Perkins Restaurant In Wis. Got there and were told about RCI lawsuit briefly. then told they could help us w/timeshare maintenance fees, exchange fees, etc. etc. if we joined PRL ($498) and and free timeshare exchanges if we joined VSI ($199). But we had to buy into Sunset Harbor Resort, Willis, Texas ($8,000.00)+ $84.00 maintenance fee for 2012. PRl promised to bring us 8.5c for each point we had and would easily pay for maintenance fees, exchange fee assoc. w/ our other timeshare owned, and have extra monies to use for other expenses. Have rec'd nothing from PRL, never used VSI as we were never given our points from Sunset Harbor. We didn't need another timeshare as what we have fit out needs... Read More

I was about to sell my timeshare to this company until they told me I had to wire transfer a fee that my timeshare company required. I suspected fraud so I contacted my timeshare company, Mayan Palace said they don't sell to 3rd parties. All transactions go thru the timeshare owner.

Met with Reps. from PRL. And we were told that we would have 60,000 plus points from a previous vacation club membership to rent buy PRL. We would only have to purchase a timeshare e in Texas for 9,000 dollars and join prl ect ect. Needless to say we never received any rental checks. I have not been able to contact anyone involved with the initial transaction. I have hired a lawyer

Austin lied three times in his sales pitch. He and M. Abbot rushed the signing and did not allow me to read the contract. That is illegal!

Timeshare Resale Source called me offering to list my timeshare for sale online and purchase it if not sold within 10 months. I gave them my credit card number and received a written contract in the mail the following week. Since the written contract did not agree with what I was told over the phone, I did not sign it and instead immediately called and sent a letter requesting a cancellation. I was told that since I did not cancel within three days of the initial phone call, the cancellation and refund were not approved.

The "marketing efforts" promised in return for my $999 are a ripoff, and I am the victim of a scam.
