Timeshare Scams and Fraud

Complaints  >   Timeshare Enhancement Consultants (T.E.C) & AVD Company

Our story is pretty much the same as everyone else. We received a call to attend a meeting regarding a court action against RCI. We were told we would be paid .065 for our points accrued in the past when our time had been rented to others. We too were told we would have vacation packages with VSI and AVD. Needless to say the check was never received. But we have filed complaints with BBB 's against, VSI, AVD and Cornerstone Processing who the larger amount went to.
Why are these people still in business? What do you have to do to get someone's business license yanked?

I was told if I upgraded my timeshare to the points system, rather than the week I had, any unused time I had at the end of the year would be paid automatically to me at the rate of 6.5 cents per unit. I charged $9,100 to a credit card to pay for the upgrade and made monthly payments. I was supposed to be paid for my points at the end of December. Never heard anything, and the number I have to contact T.E.C is now the residence phone for a family. I have no way to contact anyone. All of the other numbers are for VSI who say they have no idea what I'm talking about and will not return calls.

We were invited to a free dinner to discuss a settlement against RCI and timeshare properties, who were not marketing the open timeshare properties. we were told they would buy our points which were 200,000 points, and would rent out our current weeks of timeshare with a return of 6.5% per point. this was 2-24-2014. but there was a catch. We had to give them a check for AVD for $598.00, another $9400.00 on a credit card. We were to get all our monies back and money for the points 9 months later. We have left messages and filed complaints with the BBB. This is clearly a scam and we were dumb enough to buy into it. If it is to good to be true, it probably is. We have left messages with no response.

This was a total scam. We were guaranteed that we would receive 6.5 cents for every point given in the timeshare inventory that we turned over to them. This amounted to 207,000 points & were to be paid for 200,000 points in October 2014.

As of this date registered mail has been accepted with no response & after numerous calls the phone has been disconnected

Invited for free dinner and discussion of "selling" timeshare points for a share of profits in February 2014 The hook: This was settlement from legal action against RCI and timeshare properties who were not marketing the open timeshare properties. This would allow us to cover our time share expenses and we would be able to get vacations for much lower point exchanges through Vacation Services International. Payout would be $O.65 per point exchanged;exchanged 180,000 points. Pay pack would be $10,000 in Ocbober 2014. Cost to transfer was >$8,000 in fees and an additional $598 for the membership with Vacation Services International. Contact was AVD, Dan, 847-656-5337, voice-mail immediately. The director of operations during the presentation was Nealson Adams. Pat Thom... Read More
